In the Traditional Approach the IT department
typically will be given a broad brief to build a corporate web site. They
will (1) gather various internal and external information, like a list of
directors or a glossary of insurance terms to (2) build a generic site. Marketing
will then (3) use the various media to highlight the company's URL.
The result? Few visitors, lots of disappointment, and questions about
ROI.
